Workers at presidency reduced from 998 to 957
Persons working at the Jubilee House, Ghana’s seat of government, have been reduced from 998 to 957.
The number was disclosed when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo presented a list of workers at the presidency to parliament.
The release of the list is in compliance with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), which requires the President to submit annually to Parliament, a report on the staffing position of the Office of the President.
The breakdown discloses 10 Ministers of State at the Presidency, 28 presidential staffers and 254 other junior political appointees, bringing the total number of political appointees to 292.
In all, 665 civil and public sector employees also work at the presidency.
When the same list was presented in 2017, 998 persons were listed as workers at the presidency.
