It has been revealed that some fraudsters have started taking over WhatsApp accounts.
According to Philemon Hene, Cyber Analyst at E-Crime Bureau, 5 cases have already been recorded and people are advised to be more careful.
The way these fraudsters operate is by sending you a message on WhatsApp that you have won some money on a website.
After the engagement, they will ask you to send a code to them to help them assist you to redeem your prize. This code turns out to be the code generated through the process of them trying to change your number. Philemon Hene said this on TV3.
