VIDEO: First Lady prays for candidates
First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has wished this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates well as the exams begins today, Monday, 10 June 2019.
“Let’s do the best we can, to make them feel at ease during this period,” Mrs Akufo-Addo posted on Facebook.
Over 500,000 students at the basic level from 16,871 schools are writing the exams.
Out of the 517,332 candidates who will write the examination, 263,616 are males, while 153,716 are females.
Meanwhile, the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has banned the use of cellular devices by supervisors during the exams.
In addition, no supervisor or invigilator would be allowed, under any circumstance, to supervise or invigilate candidates from schools to which the supervisor or invigilator was affiliated.
