Pentecost Church explains position on pre-wedding photos [Audio]
The Church of Pentecost has put into perspective its current position that it frowns on sexually suggestive pre-wedding photo shoots.
The General Secretary of the Church, Apostle Nana Yaw Kumi, has said the church’s position was to prevent pre-marital affairs amongst members and not to ban such shoots in their entirety.
“We only raised red flags just to caution our members not to engage in pre-marital relationships and sex. We only frown upon the act and that is why we discourage it and not to ban it totally,” Apostle Kumi told Captain Smart on Adom FM‘s Dwaso Nsem show Monday.
The Church of Pentecost has announced it will be taking steps to discourage its members, especially the youth, from taking sensual pre-wedding photo shoots.
Apostle Kumi has explained that these photos demean the holy matrimony and do not speak well of Christians who are required to live holy lives.
The church has observed that many would-be couples abuse the concept of pre-wedding shoots, noting that some would-be couples go to the extreme of “touching” vital areas of each other as if they were already married.
Throwing more light on the issue, he said Pastors of the Church have been charged to encourage moderate and decent weddings to cut down cost.
He said the Church has also initiated measures to strengthen premarital counselling for a prospective couple before they are brought to the altar to reduce the divorce rate.
The Church, he noted, shall continue to hold, in high esteem, chastity in marriage and will continue to strongly frown upon premarital sexual relationships between a prospective couple.
