I regret going on a musical break- Papi of 5Five
A member of the 5Five music group, Papi has said he regrets taking a break in music.
Luther Azamati as the rapper is known in real life told MzGee on 3FM’s Showbuzz that although “God has a reason for everything”, he regrets “musically for giving a break” because he feels he has “a lot to give.”
The rapper who was touted as ‘the ladies’ man’ disclosed his intentions to once again make an appearance in the music industry.
When asked if there are plans of the afro-pop group ever coming back, he said, “we have solved our problems, my other partners have stuff to do… we might come back, I don’t know. It’s their decision… They are not ready to do music but I still need to represent Adabraka, I feel I was born to do this”.
There is a tall list of musicians who have left their groups to embark on solo-projects. Some have however succeeded on their new path but in most instances, their fans have given more attention to the group when they decide to unite.
Back in the day, songs by 5Five received massive airplay and still remain the favorites of many. Some hit songs by the Adabraka-based group include, African Girls, Boosu Kena, Move Back, Gargantua, Just Stop among others.
