Ashaiman residents to demonstrate against Ghana Water Company on Monday
Residents of Ashaiman will Monday, December 2, 2019, embark on a demonstration against the Ghana Water Company to express their frustration over the failure of the company to supply them water, ABC News can report.
According to the residents of Ashaiman Official Town, the Ghana Water Company has for the past 3 three weeks failed to supply them with water.
The residents contend that this situation has made life unbearable for them. They claim that the situation is adversely affecting their health and personal hygiene.
According to the convener of the demonstration, who gave his name as Michael, to ABC News, after numerous requests to the authorities of Ghana Water Company, little has been done to rectify the situation.
“We have told the authorities and they are aware of the situation by nothing has been done about it”, Michael, the convenor for the demonstration told ABC News.
According to the residents, they will match to the office of Ghana Water Company on Monday and demand answers as to why their water problem has still not been almost a month since their supply was cut off and numerous complaints filed at their offices.
The convener, therefore, urged all the residents in Ashaiman Official Town to join the protest to demand answers.

“We the residents of Ashaiman Official Town wish to match to the office of Ashaiman Ghana Water Company on Monday to protest against them for failing to provide us with water for the past three weeks. Their inability to give us water is making life unbearable for us. We entreat all residents to come out in their numbers to join in this protest”, a circular from the convenor sighed by ABC News read.
