Dozens of frustrated customers of Gold Coast Fund Management stormed the offices of the investment company to demand payment of their deposits.

Videos circulating on social media show some of the customers in a heated argument with a staff of the company which is a member of the Groupe Nduom conglomerate.

One distraught client sat on the floor at the office amidst tears as she rejected explanations of a staff who tried to console her because, according to her, she has been trying to withdraw her money for days but to no avail.

“People are suffering and you are in a meeting from Tuesday up to Friday,” she said, in reply to explanations from the staff that the management is locked up in a meeting.

This occurred despite efforts by the President of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom, to calm customers of GN Bank and Gold Coast urging the clients to refrain from panic withdrawal spree.

According to the Ghanaian businessman, the crisis in the finance sector of the economy has affected every financial institution including the banking sector, hence admonished the customers to pull the breaks on the surge in withdrawals.

Since the collapse of seven local banks, there has been a lot of speculation that other banks and financial institutions will suffer a similar fate. Since the beginning of August this year, thousands of depositors have been trooping to banking halls to withdraw their deposits out of fear and panic.
