UEW: Avoke being treated unfairly – Rawlings
Former President JJ Rawlings has waded in the impasse between authorities of the University of Education-Winneba and Professor Mawutor Avoke saying there is a “clear case of injustice”.
The former President’s position comes after the former Vice Chancellor of the school petitioned him over his removal by the council of the school.
In a statement addressed to the National Security Minister, Mr. Rawlings called on the government to ensure that Justice was served in the matter.
Professor Avoke was dismissed by the University following accusations of financial mismanagement. However, a probe into the issues by the national security exonerated him.
The University has however refused to reinstate him as the President sworn in another Vice Chancellor during the probe.
