Two year old boy drowns in abandoned mining pit
A two and half-year-old boy has drowned in an abandoned mining pit at Anum Apapam in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred around 5:30pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2019.
The deceased, Jibiril Doku and his neighbourhood friends went to the abandoned mining pit filled with water hence used as swimming pool, to spectate but unfortunately fell into the pool.
Attempt to save him proved futile as he was retrieved already suffocated hence gave up the ghost when being rushed to the hospital.
He has since been buried in accordance with Islam.
