‘This is different’ – Jim Iyke mourns Junior Pope
Nollywood actor and filmmaker Jim Iyke has expressed his sorrow over the passing of his colleague, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, often known as Junior Pope.
Junior Pope and three other people died on Wednesday, April 10, after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State as they were making their way back from a filming site.
Jim Iyke, who was mourning his colleague, remarked that although he has experienced terrible losses before, “this one is a different pain.”
He said that although he is unable to challenge God, he has a lot of questions in his heart.
He wrote: “Dear God, I am not stranger to devastating loss. I will not dare question your will but my heart is so heavy with so many questions. Words fail me.
“To the giver and taker of life, I surrender but this one is a different pain. A different loss. Broken in ways I don’t even understand.
“Rest with God JP. Rest my dear brother.”
