Suspected criminal breaks jail in Sunyani
A suspected criminal has broken jail in Sunyani after pushing down the policeman on duty and till date his whereabouts unknown.
According to confirmed information gathered by MyNewsGh.com, 24-year-old Abdulai Karim who was in detention for his involvement series of cases, on Monday [March 30, 2020] asked for water.
The policeman identified as Sergeant Padmore Ocloo who was on duty, claimed to have opened the cells main gate to serve the remand prisoner sachet water but in the process he pushed him and escaped.
The Regional Commander, Deputy Regional Commander and Divisional Commander were accordingly informed.
The Regional commander on arrival at the Sunyani district headquarters called on all patrol teams and deployed them as a search party to look and re-arrest the prisoner escapee.
Meanwhile, the embattled Sergeant Padmore Ocloo has been given some days to produce the suspect or disciplinary action will be instituted against him.
