“Stop that prophetic nonsense and save Christianity”- rev Ofori charges

Rev John Ofori, Founder and Leader for Counsel of God Church has warned Prophets in Ghana to tread cautiously in most of their prophetic declarations and in how they go about their activities as servants of God.

False prophesies and some inactions of most men of God according to him may one day provoke a ruling government to enact strict laws against the church, hence the urgent need for Christian bodies to rise up and call such men of God to order.

“Any government that will rise up will be unfriendly to the church consequent to false and deceptive behaviour of some false churches and prophets and will cause the church to be limited  in so many areas under their control as witnessed in some African countries” he indicated.

Rev John Ofori premised his call on Prophet Owusu Bempah’s prediction on the death of the National Chief Imam which almost plunged the nation into a political upheaval, rubbishing that ” these are some of the things which can annoy a President against Churches in Ghana.”

According to him “if some so called Prophets had existed in other countries, their license would have been revoked and their churches too would have been closed down by now all because the laws are so strict that such prophetic nonsense are not entertained.

For some African countries, a person without a first degree is not permitted to hold an ecclesiastical position and they don’t care if you are called by God or not.  For other countries, any unlicenced church or Pastor is not permitted by law  to run and all tax defaulting churches are closed down. Why don’t we be thankful to God that there are no such restrictions in Ghana and stop that religious pollution in the name of freedom of worship” he roared.

Announcing in an exclusive interview, the Kumasi- Afrancho Bronkong based reverend minister challenged that any action of a clergy which seeks to take an undue advantage of the masses and create fear and panic should not be entertained but must be exposed and shamed by right thinking Christians in the country for the safety of all.
