Man, 32, shot dead by unknown gunmen near Obuasi
A 32-year-old illegal miner, identified as Paul Owusu, has been shot dead by unknown gunmen at Tweapease on the Nyamebekyere-Kokotenten road near Obuasi in the Ashanti region.
Confirming the incident, the district crime officer, Supt. Emmanuel Issaka disclosed that the deceased was murdered on Thursday while going to Wamase area for galamsey operations with his friend, Samuel Owusu.
“Upon reaching between Nyamebekyere and Kokotenten, Paul said he wanted to ease himself and while Samuel Owusu was waiting for him, he spotted four men holding sticks and guns heading towards their direction and drove to a distance to wait for Paul.
“Gunshots were fired after the men diverted into the bush only for Paul to be found lying in a pool of blood after the gunshots ceased,” he disclosed in an interview.
