Chelsea fans clamour for Mohammed Kudus signing after viral picture with Pochettino

Chelsea fans on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), have urged the club to sign Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus in the summer transfer window.

Kudus was phenomenal in Chelsea’s 5-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday, May 5, 2024, catching the eye of some Blues fans.

Following the game, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino shared a moment with the 23-year-old, and an image of their interaction has gone viral, sparking talk about a potential transfer.

The Ghanaian had an exceptional performance, completing 14 dribbles in the match, making him the first player to achieve this feat in a Premier League game this season.

Despite not scoring or assisting in the match, Kudus ended the game with an 8.8 FotMob rating, the highest by a West Ham player and the third-highest-rated player in the game after Nicholas Jackson and Noni Madueke.

Some Chelsea fans asserted that the club should loan out winger Mykhailo Mudryk and sign Kudus as his replacement, labelling the Ghanaian as a better player.

Others believe Kudus’ dribbling ability will be a valuable asset for the team’s attack.

Mohammed Kudus, who was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, joined West Ham United in August 2023.

He is currently one of the best players at the Hammers, netting 13 goals and providing 6 assists in 43 games in all competitions.
