Kumasi: Six suspected highway robbers arrested
The Manhyia divisional Police command in Kumasi in the Ashanti region has arrested six suspected armed robbers suspected to be of Fulani origin.
The suspects were arrested Sunday dawn at the Aboabo Zongo community in the Asokore-Mampong Municipality.
A search on the suspects retrieved a short gun and several other ammunition.
The suspects according to police sources are involved in highway robbery and car theft in the region.
The police command is expected to address journalists on the matter Monday morning.
The arrest comes days after some seven kidnappers – Four Nigerians and three Ghanaians – were arrested for kidnapping two Canadian nationals.
