Five New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Gomoa Central constituency of the Central Region have been sacked from their respective positions.

They are Chairman Philemon Darko, Organiser John Ato Benya, Treasurer Eric Sakyi, Research and Election Officer John Otedu, and Second Vice Chairman Isaac Duku.

Additionally, Deputy Secretary Stephen Arthur, and Communications Officer Benjamin Owiredu have resigned from their respective positions.

John Ato Benya, the former organiser, in an interview with Adom TV, disclosed that the executives were asked by the national executives to step aside pending an appearance before the disciplinary committee.

Allegations also surfaced regarding their support for independent candidate, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, during the recent parliamentary polls.

“My only crime was taking a photo with A Plus at a wedding, while the others allegedly supported a contender, Rev Francis Yamoah, Chairman of the Council of Patrons,” Benya stated.

During a meeting held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Nasara Coordinator communicated their news of their dismissals, citing the allegations as the reason for their removal from office.
