JAILBREAK: Remand prisoner attacks policeman and escapes from custody
A suspect who was on remand in police custody for his involvement in armed robbery has attacked a policeman on duty at Bongo in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region and escaped.
Gaddafi Atindana was on Friday, July 5, 2019 remanded into prison custody in Navrongo for two weeks to reappear on July 17, 2019 by the Bongo Magistrate Court.
MyNewsGh.com gathered from the police that prison authorities refused to admit him because he sustained injuries all over his body during his arrest and was brought back and put in cells to be sent back to court on Monday, July 8, 2019.
During inspection of the cells on Saturday by one Lance Corporal Peter Owusu, the remand prisoner forcibly pushed the policeman down and escaped.
A search has since been mounted for him in and around the Upper East Region.
