COVID 19: GNCL presents sanitation items to Techiman North Distract

Ghana Nuts Company Limited on Monday April 6, 2020, presented some essential Coronavirus preventive hand washing as well as sanitation items to the Techiman north District Assembly in the Bono East Region with a call on residents to abide by all protocols set out by Health experts to reduce exponential spread of COVID 19.

The items donated by the Techiman based agro-processing company Ghana Nuts and its sister company Obapack co. LTD ( Ghana nut) based in Techiman north district, included Veronica buckets, antiseptic liquid soap, hand sanitisers, buckets, tissue paper and dustbins.

The General Manager, Mr Kwadwo Obeng Aboagye who presented items which cost the company over GHC20, 000 said, company was concerned about the welfare of the people in the community and decided to show their support to the government in its efforts to deal with the threat of coronavirus.

Mr Kwadwo Obeng Aboagye, explain the gesture was to enable the Techiman North District Assembly to respond to the many requests of such items by the people in this area.”

“The Ghana Nuts Company Limited believes that times of national crisis are times for solidarity, time to come together and a time to show generosity”.

DCE’S APPRECIATION

Accepting the items on behalf of the people of the Techiman North District, Hon Peter Mensah the Chief Executive expressed his gratitude for the donation which they described as life-saving equipment in this pandemic situation.

The DCE entreated the public to utilize these items during and after this pandemic as it will go a long way to support the health facilities and the general wellbeing of the people.

According to Hon Peter Mensah “We are honoured by Ghana Nuts Limited’s continue support to the District and I must say this is a timely gesture because it would enable us provide same to communities that do not have hand-washing items.

“This demonstration is a milestone that we all have to emulate,” he added.

Hon Peter Mensah used the opportunity to urge Ghanaians to frequently practice handwashing to prevent the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus pandemic.

Ghanas cases

Ghana’s coronavirus case count has risen sharply to 287, an update by Ghana Health Service late Monday, April 6, 2020, has revealed.

At the last count, confirmed Covid-19 cases stood at 214, implying 73 new persons have tested positive for the deadly virus. The number of deaths, however, remains five with Bono East Region yet to record a case.
