(AUDIO): Prosecute Charlotte Osei, two deputies – Centre for National Affairs
A Civil Society Group Centre for National Affairs (CNA) is calling for the prosecution of the Chairperson of Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Georgina Opoku Amankwa and Amadu Sule.
According to the Executive Director of CNA, Samuel Lartey, it is not enough to ask the commissioners to go without prosecuting them for flouting the procurement laws.
Mr Odame Lartey argues that if a teacher defiles a student, the teacher is not only sacked or transferred but made to face the law as well.
Addressing a press conference in Accra, Mr Lartey revealed that his outfit has petitioned the Special Prosecutor to investigate the matter further and take action on the three.
Center for National Affairs also wants the Special Prosecutor to investigate an allegation by one of the EC Commissioners as captured on tape that former deputy Minister Felix Kwaakye Ofosu used $6m out of $12m meant for the Electoral Commission for his personal venture.
