Angry lawyers stage walkout as NBA invites Portable as guest artist at conference
The event that was dubbed “unbarred” took place at the he Velodrome at the MKO Abiola Stadium in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The event’s poster stated that Timi Agbaje would serve as host, DJ Skillz and Veentage Band will manage the Music Policy, and a surprise performance was promised.
It was time to reveal the surprise performance, and lawyers who had waited for the show to begin for several hours were shocked to see Portable named as the guest performer, according to The Nation.
Before Portable’s “shocking” entrance on stage, NBA President Yakubu Maikyau gave a brief statement, which was followed by some brief entertainment from the DJ.
Many of the attorneys made the decision to leave after objecting to the selection of the self-described “wahala” singer for the occasion.
Some of the protesting solicitors were seen driving away from the stadium, while others were seen departing on foot.
Social media videos have gone viral, showing a shirtless Portable scaling portions of the stadium’s infrastructure.
Others, however, lingered to “enjoy” the exuberant performance of the “Zazu” crooner.
