alpha radio 104.9 mhz donates items worth GH 5,000 to orphans on Christmas
Executives and staff of Alpha Radio 104.9 mhz have donated items worth GH5000 to orphans of Kumasi Children’s Home.
The items included; bags of rice, sugar, assorted soft drinks, toiletries, wash powder, packs of mineral water, assorted biscuits among others.
The donation was done in collaboration with executives of Jofel Catering Service and the purpose was to demonstrate their support to orphans and the deprived in society and to again add more colour to their(orphans) celebration of Christmas.
Executives of Alpha Radio said the presentation is an activity done twice a year; during Christmas and Ramadan Celebration.
General Manager for Alpha Radio Alhaji Alhaji Abubakar Abdul Mumin in an interview with THE PRESS RADIO stated that the donation was made possible through numerous contributions done by listeners of the station.
This he stressed was their (listeners) response to a request made by the station on air as in soliciting for individuals’ contributions for donation.
This he underlined as their modus a operandi, adding that the donation has carried out in most orphanage homes in Ashanti region.
Alhaji Abubakar Abdul Mumin otherwise known as “Alhaji Space Man” recalled how the station supported the wife of President Akuffo Addo in the building of an ultra modern maternity ward at Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, stressing that it has always been their passion to support the society.
Receiving the items, Madam Mabel Amponsah, Supervisor for the Home expressed gratitude and challenged them to carry on with the good work.
