A/R: sofoline bus terminal construction ignored…project still uncompleted

Credible intelligence gathered by THE PRESS RADIO indicates that the architectural makeup of the Sofoline Bus Terminal at Kwadaso on grounds at the moment is deficient of most of the facilities captured in the original drawing of the project.
This is to say that sofoline bus terminal as it stands now is not a full reflection of the original drawing of the project and that some facilities captured in the drawing were not constructed by the contractor at the watch of authorities of KMA which was then under the leadership of Hon Kojo Bonsu, former Mayor for the assembly.
Though many claim completion of the project (then under the jurisdiction of KMA) hence  its handing over to executives of Sofoline Drivers Union Association, this journalist after an eagle eye investigation was bamboozled to discover that some key facilities covered in the original drawing have hitherto remained unconstructed.
They are a 20-seater water closet and a Urinal facility, 10 No. 50-seater capacity passenger waiting sheds (some still not constructed), No. 1 police post for 5 officers with 2-seater WC toilet(uncompleted for utilization) and a walk way pavement( some uncompleted).

A toilet facility which is currently in use now according to a deep throat source  belongs a private developer and is even located on a tract of land which is a distance away from the terminal.
A urinal facility currently in use at the terminal is made up of a wooden structure which has been partitioned into two(male and female).

Passengers and drivers who access it (urinal facility) to discharge the liquid residue (urine) of the human anatomy do so at a charge of GH0.20.
Most of the stair case serving as an entry route into the terminal are poorly constructed and reports reaching us indicate that people often fall off whenever descending.

Meanwhile according to the content of an intercepted contract award letter attached to a confirmation letter vis-a-vis the construction of the lorry terminal (Sofoline bus station) dated 10th October 2016 and signed by Mr Michael B. Ataogye (Metropolitan Coordinating Director), a contract sum of GH 2,176,597.90 was awarded for the project and covers all the above listed facilities.

On the grounds of accountability, this journalist was left to wonder in his swivel chair at the time of scribbling this paragraph over why the above listed facilities in question were never erected and completed by Messrs Rock Everest Trading and Construction (contractor); why the contract sum of GHs 2,176,597.90 couldn’t effect the construction of those facilities at the watch of the assembly and the where about of the remainder (if any) of the contract sum since the facilities were not constructed or completed.
“Why did Hon Kojo Bonsu, the then Mayor fail to see to the construction of those facilities?; was any money left  by him ( Hon Kojo Bonsu) as a remainder of the GH2,176,597.90) for the construction of the neglected facilities before he left office?
and why did the current administration (before Kwadaso was curved out of KMA) hand over the terminal to the transport association to commence business on 22nd November 2017 knowing very well that most of the facilities were not in place?”

These were some of the inquisitorial questions raised by concern citizens who are strong advocates of social accountability.
