A/R: Man, 31, arrested for stealing 6 kg gas cylinder
The suspect, who declined to mention his name but claimed to be a resident of Bekwai, was arrested around 6:30 am today, Thursday, 21 April 2022.
An eyewitness, Nana Akwasi Amankwa, told Class News that they heard a woman shouting ‘thief!’ in a house close to their industrial enclave in the area.
The mechanic said he and other artisans at the enclave rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect.
He was subjected to some severe beatings after his arrest.
The suspect, he said, was later handed over to the Adiebeba police command and is currently in their custody.
Mr Amankwa noted that several engines have lately been stolen from the industrial enclave while residents in the area have also complained about theft.
He was of the view that the suspect was part of the people who have been stealing in the area.
