VIDEO: Brutality at NDC meeting as MP’s guards allegedly beat former aide mercilessly

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast South Constituency who doubles as the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate for 2020 general elections, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan ordered his bodyguard by nickname “Shine” and the immediate past Constituency Chairman, Mohammed Muftao to unleash violent on Ishmael Abakah, the Former Aide to the MP and the latter is suffering from internal bleeding and dislocated arm and spinal bone.
The incident happened on Sunday, 9th February 2020 at Cape Coast Hotel where the Political Committee of the party, Constituency Executive Committee, and the MP met to deliberate on strategies that would help them to maintain the parliamentary seat and also win the presidential votes.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Mynewsghana.net on anonymity, “the MP instructed his former political aide by name Nii Kommey Adams to walk out of the meeting because he (MP) was not comfortable of his (Nii Adams) inclusion on the committee. The MP’s behavior heightened tension and Nii Adams insisted upon his right that he would not step out of the meeting because the MP does not have locus and it’s only the committee’s chairman who could do so if he so wishes.
The Former Constituency Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Muftao who is a member of the committee vehemently rushed to attack Nii Adams and they were separated by Ishmael Abakah who was taking minutes of the meeting. Ishmael Abakah spoke to Nii Adams to calm his temper. Ishmael escorted Nii out of the room. When they were heading towards Nii’s car, Mohammed Muftao, the MP’s Body Guard by name “Shine” and one of the MP’s militants by name Abacha laid ambush on them.
Nii Adams only received slaps from Abacha. But Ishmael Abakah who was a peacemaker was vehemently brutalized. Mufao and Shine beat the hell out of Ishmael Abakah to an extent that his arm got dislocated. They tore the attire that he was wearing and Ishmael cried profusely like a baby.”
Mr. Ricketts-Hagan justified why disrespectful members would be dealt with. But members present at the scene did not understand why Ishmael Abakah who was just a peacemaker was attacked?
The eyewitness further revealed that Ishmael Abakah has since been hospitalized at Cape Coast Metro Hospital and receiving treatment. Medical Officers have been administering oxygen on him since last Tuesday. Friends and loved ones are raising funds to help him deflate some of his medical bills.

“He has a spinal problem and internal bleeding now. The MP has shown no sympathy to visit the gentleman but only sent Gh$300 to the Constituency Organizer by name Nanka Bruce to give to Abakah upon several calls on the MP. Kwesi Dawood, the Central Regional Communication Officer of the party was not happy about the incident and condemned the MP for not visiting the gentleman because he (MP) was the beneficiary of the brutality.”

An insider explained to mynewsghana.net that, Ishmael Abakah was part of those who are on the target list of the MP. Ishmael Abakah was on their target list because he has fallen out with the MP and he is very critical of him (MP) anytime he (Abakah) gets the opportunity. Since the NDC lost power, the MP deserted Ishamael Abakah who was his Aide when the MP was the Central Regional Minister.
The duo, Nii Adams and Ishmael Abakah were working with the MP as Political Aide and Special Aide respectively. There is bad blood between the trio since the party lost power because the aides believe the MP was the cause of the party’s abysmal performance in the 2016 elections.
The MP has formed a new team which is led by Mohammed Muftao who is the immediate past Constituency Chairman who lost his bid to be re-elected and he is doing everything possible to undermine the current Constituency Chairman by name Korankye Taylor. The team’s sole aim is to protect the interest of the MP and unleash violent on anyone who speaks against the behavior of the MP.
Members of the party in the Constituency have spoken against the inhumane act by the MP and his militants. The Constituency Executives are divided in which the majority are against the divide and rule Ricketts Hagan.
Mynewsghana.net is yet to ascertain the fact if Ishmael Abakah has reported the matter to the police since it bothers criminality. Some party officials are however believed to have pleaded with Abakah to settle the issue amicably.
