US court postpones Hushpuppi’s sentence

The United States court has postponed the sentencing of Nigerian serial fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi from February 14, 2022, to July 11, 2022.

According to the court, Hushpuppi risks “20 years’ imprisonment; a 3-year period of supervised release; a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or gross loss resulting from the offence”.

He was arrested for attempting to steal more than $1.1m from someone who wanted to fund a new children’s school in Qatar. He also targeted multiple victims and laundered illicit funds in banks all over the world.
