“stop relying on gov’t for employment”, Mampong youth advised during NBU Project ignite 3.0 event

Mr. Hakeem Haruna, Vice President for Ghana Youth Climate Coalition has challenged Youth within Asokore Manpong municipality and for that matter Ghanaians to quit their over reliance on government for employment opportunities.
He premised his call on the fact that government cannot shoulder the employment needs of every citizen in the country, advising that every Ghanaian youth should seize golden opportunities  and start something of their own to support themselves.
Though majority of Ghanaians are expecting government to create enabling environment as in the creation of job opportunities, he challenged the youth to endeavor to utilize every potential they have to initiate an employment avenue for themselves “since government of Ghana cannot help everybody”.
He made this statement during the holding of Ignite 3.0 event under No Business as Usual Project (NBU) at the project’s hub located within Asokore Mampong municipality in Ashanti region.
This was an event which brought on board job-seekers and budding entrepreneurs to have an engagement with renowned business personnel who shared with them their life stories and motivational ideas.
The event was organized to inspire youth of Asokore Manpong Municipality to take immediate actions of improving their lifes and acquaint themselves in life especially in the making of tough decisions: setting daring life goals and taking risks.
Mr. Hakeem Haruna in an interview with this medium lamented that the overdependence on white-colour jobs is the cause of the heat of financial crisis face by majority of Ghanaian youth in the country.
Their (youth) unwillingness  to go down and create their own business after graduating from school he noted has generated a great burden on government.
In connection to the foregoing, one of the speakers Mr. Ivan Heathcote Fumador who is a broadcast Journalist for EIB Network as a way of whipping their interest challenged participants of the event to make a bold step and commence any vision they carry in life.
He empowered them not to be discouraged by difficult situations they go through but should remain resolute and focused.
The event provided an avenue for youth within Asokore Mampong to share, learn and acquire inspiration and motivational ideas towards starting their own business.
It also sought to stimulate youth employment and entrepreneurship journey for Gamma and Beta group trainees and youth outside the programme.
Other speakers who graced the occasion were Mr Bashiru Shehu Mohammed(Educationists and Assistant Head, Nurul Ameen SHS) and Mr. Abdul Samad Mohammed ( CEO, SamDanCa Company Limited)
