Samira Bawumia’s brother flogs NPP’s Yaw Buaben Asamoa at Adentan
Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, Elder brother of Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has defeated New Patriotic Party’s(NPP’s) Director of Communication Yaw Buaben Asamoah to emerge the Member of Parliament elect for the Adentan constituency in Accra.
The son of the former National Chairman of the PNC, had earlier whipped Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur in the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2019 to emerge as the party’s in August 2019.
Putting up a sterling performance in the 2020 polls, he polled 53,275 votes as against 41,691 votes by the incumbent while GUM candidate had 517 and 171 for the CPP.
Confirming this a while ago, the Director of Elections for the NDC Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said “Starting from Greater Accra, we’ve flipped Krowor. Flipped means this is a seat that was won by the NPP in 2016 and we’ve gotten [it]. So, we’ve flipped Krowor, we’ve flipped Ledzokuku, we’ve flipped La Dadekotopon, we’ve flipped Tema East, we’ve flipped Adentan, we’ve flipped Madina, we’ve flipped Ablekuma Central and then we’ve flipped Okaikwei North. This is Greater Accra, so, so far, 18 and counting. I’m focusing on the flipped ones”.
