Nsuta: Girl, 13, found hanging on mango tree
The body of a 13-year-old girl has been found hanging by a rope on a mango tree in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti Region.
A police situation report explained that on Monday, 25 March 2019, the Sekyere Central District Health Director, Mr Danso Yeboah Joseph, contacted the police at 0635 hours and reported that at about 0600 hours, his night watchman called to inform him of a girl hanging dead on a mango tree behind the district office premises at Nsuta.
The police said they proceeded to the scene and found a lifeless girl, later identified as Abigail Aklugu, aged 13, hanging by a nylon rope and partially sitting on the ground.
The law enforcement officers found a whitish fluid and blood in the deceased girl’s vagina and anus.
Photographs were taken and the body was deposited at the Mampong Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
