Man in dock for allegedly stabbing his mother to death
A man who allegedly stabbed his mother to death is expected in the dock of a Cape Town court on a murder charge on Friday.
The 26-year-old suspect was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly fleeing the scene in Gugulethu on Tuesday, police spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi confirmed.
“The 67-year-old deceased was at home and about to leave for the shop when the suspect arrived and an argument ensued,” she said.
“The suspect allegedly stabbed his mother multiple times and she was rushed to a medical facility where she succumbed to the stab wounds.”
The son had fled with his mother’s car, and a tip-off led to his arrest in Cape Town.
According to the Daily Voice, Thobeka Kibido was stabbed more than nine times in front of her grandchild.
