kokofu nursing training college principal pleads for support

Students of Kokofu Nursing Training College are likely to encounter difficult moments in the writing of their online examination (a new initiative by Ghana Nursing and Midwifery Council) due to lack of computers plus other ICT related logistics.
Authorities of the the institution due to the foregoing  deficiency will  be compelled to move final year nursing trainees to a different college and fall on their computers before they (trainees) can sit for the online examination.
The Principal for the school Madam Beatrice Williams speaking to this medium on the sidelines during the celebration of the School’s 10th Anniversary and 12th Matriculation
noted that the school as it stands now will need close to over hundred computers to resource its computer lab before final year students can sit for the exams.
The current state of the school’s computer lab she indicated calls for an urgent expansion to be able to accommodate more students and therefore appealed to government, institutions and well to dos in society to assist them in addressing the situation.
Madam Beatrice Williams in her statement underlined another challenge as the lack of enough hostel facilities to accommodate students.
This he stressed has led to congestion and has restrained authorities from admitting more students.
The construction of a hostel block by authorities of the school according the Principal has been halted due to lack of funds to carry on with the  project.
Though the institution has been provided with more tract of land by Kokofu Traditional Authorities, the college she underlined needs more financial support for the construction of more facilities.
During the occasion she advised trainees to exercise discipline and commitment in their area of study. Out of the 216  matriculants present during the occasion, 117 were nursing assistants whiles 92 were registered nurses.
