It’s fake news! I’m not contesting Akufo-Addo – Boakye Agyarko
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has described as “fake news”, a report by a news website that he intends running against President Nana Akufo-Addo for the flag bearer slot of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2020 general polls.
Mr Agyarko, who was sacked in 2018 by the president on connection with the controversial Ameri power deal, issued a disclaimer, saying: “My attention has been drawn to a fake news publication on http://www.ghanacrusader.com with an election poster artwork”.
“Let me state without equivocation or the fear of contradiction that this is the product of an overheated imagination in their continued orchestration to tarnish my image.
“I ask the general public to treat this fake news with utter contempt”, the statement added.
