Traditional leaders of Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region have sworn heaven and earth to block the Obuasi-Dunkwa-Offin road consequent to government’s insensitive posture over its (road) bad state and their(government) failure to give it a befitting construction.
According to an intelligence swooped by THE PRESS, they are planning to hit the street and stage a fierce protest against government and will as part of their line of action mount a road block to restrain drivers from plying the road as a way of showcasing their displeasure.
Though it is currently unclear the date set for the staging of the protest, enraged Chiefs of Dunkwa-On-Offin have disclosed to this medium that their yet to be staged protest is premised on the worrying reality that past and present government have hitherto failed to respond to the litany of complains made by them as in the speedy construction of the road.
They whispered to this reporter that several petitions forwarded to all the appropriate quarters regarding the challenge in question have been brushed under carpet as though Dunkwa-On-Offin does not fall within the jurisdiction of Ghana government.

Drivers he underlined ply the road with difficulty due to the uncountable number of killer-pot holes.
Drivers according to him spend close to two hours before reaching Kumasi with its attendant negative impact on the vehicle.
“Before the current state, it took just 30 minutes to drive from Dunkwa to Obuasi but at moment a driver will  spend almost one hour to reach Obuasi” he said.
Nana Obeng Nuako III expressed shocks over the uncaring attitude of government as in addressing the situation considering the fact that patients are sometimes  referred from the area to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital under emergency situation, cautioning that if authorities fail to expedite actions several patients may die out of delayed transfer caused by the bad nature of the road.
Nana Obeng Nuako III who for the past fifteen years has been playing the advocacy role revealed that the out gone government (NDC Mills-Mahama administration) failed to put the road into a good shape despite the many calls.
He expressed disappointment in His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo and for that matter the NPP government over why after attaining political power they have failed to factor the Obuasi-Dunkwa-On-Offin road in their list of priorities, wondering if the have the welfare of the people in the area at heart.
“So are they telling us that they are not aware of the nature of the road or they don’t recognize us anymore as part of the country and that we have no share in the national cake?” he roared.
“We are giving them some few moments. If we don’t see any positive sign from them, I and my men will not hesitate to hit the street, block the road to let them know that they can’t take us for granted” he noted.
