Consider NABCO trainees first – Akufo-Addo to state agencies
President Akufo-Addo has charged all the policy implementation partners of government’s flagship programme, Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) to give consideration to NABCO Trainees first whenever there are job openings in their various institutions.
The partners include Office of the President, Ministry of Business Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Employment, Ministry of Trade and Industry, the National Services Scheme (NSS), the Judiciary, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) amongst others,
Addressing a gathering at the National Theatre to observe the one year anniversary since the implementation of the policy, President Akufo Addo said in order to ensure the smooth transition of the Trainees in the the job market, it is essential to ensure that they efficiently absorbed in the job market in their various career pathways.
“Thus far, the NABCO module implementation partners have fulfilled their part of the burgain. I commend them for their partnership of the scheme and will appeal to then to recognize and reward the sacrifice made by Trainees. They should be the first to be considered when opportunities for permanent employment come up” President Akufo-Addo said.

Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), Dr. Anyars Ibrahim in his welcome address recalled the many successes that NABCO has achieved so far. He also indicated that NABCO Trainees deserve praise and support for their dedication to serve.
“We must encourage them to take advantage of the scheme to grow and develop themselves. The essential benefits of work experience, work readiness skills and the remuneration for Trainees should assist all beneficiaries of the scheme to transition effectively into permanent jobs” Dr. Anyars Ibrahim said. “It is hoped that as the economy grows, more jobs opportunities will be occasioned.
THE NSTA
As part of the celebration, NABCO outdoored its newest project. The project is know as the NABCO Skills and Talent Academy (NSTA). Essentially, the NSTA will deoy combination of virtual and physical (classroom) teaching through designated learning centre’s across the country and learning environments to assist Trainees meet their aspirations through continuous skills development.
“NSTA pathways is aimed at signaling and bringing clarity to the exit preparation of our NABCO Trainees, I urge all Trainees to commit to this” President Akufo Addo stated when he officially launched the Academy.
NABCO
The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative will be solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection.
Under The Programme, Graduates Will Be Trained, Equipped With The Necessary Work Tools And Deployed Around The Country To Engage In The Following Programmes: Educate Ghana, Heal Ghana, Feed Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Digitise Ghana, Civic Ghana, and Enterprise Ghana.
