Confusion breaks out at Bole Eid prayers, gunshots heard
Three unidentified young men reportedly interrupted an ongoing Eid-Fitr prayer service at Bole in the North East Region and made away with the Imam’s Staff of Authority as worshippers knelt in prayer.
Reports filed by Adom News’ regional correspondent, Rebecca Nantoma, who reported the incident on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Wednesday, said the Muslims who were in prayer and became confused about the interruption fled for their lives living their mats, clothes and slippers on the prayer grounds.
Gunshots were heard at the scene but no injury was recorded.
There was tight security at the grounds with serious search on Muslims before they were allowed to enter the grounds.
Investigations are still ongoing with no arrest made so far.
