Audio: NDC can win 2020 election if… Koku Anyidoho
Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho is optimistic of electoral victory in 2020 once it stays united.
He is cautioning the current executives to avoid what he described as a ‘disunited front’ that led to the party’s painful defeat in 2016.
In view of this, Koku wants whoever among the party’s seven flagbearer aspirants is chosen to lead the party into 2020 elections to work with losing aspirants.
“Unity lies in strength since one person cannot work alone. We are going to polls to elect a flagbearer. What I want to tell them is that the eventual winner of the NDC congress should pick a phone and call all the others and thank them for giving him a good contest.
“We are talking about unity and so it lies on the winner to bring people together and work with them. That is how we will win 2020 elections. We need to be strong to organize campaigns,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Show.
Seven flagbearer hopefuls are vying for the flagbearership of the NDC after successfully going through vetting.
They are Member of Parliament for Nawdoli-Kaleo, Alban Bagbin, businessman, Nurudeen Iddrisu, former President John Dramani Mahama and former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority, Sylvester Mensah. Others include Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, a former Trades Minister, Goosie Tanoh and Prof. Joshua Alabi in that order on the ballot.
