Excerpts of a documentary by Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, which, apparently is aimed at exposing investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas as a corrupt person and blackmailer, have been released on social media.

In the video, a gentleman in glasses, who the narration claims is Anas, was captured having a discussion with a woman, whom the narrator alleged was a State Attorney.

During the discussions between the two, the gentleman was heard saying: “So at that time, they buy me with hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) because he somehow relates to me”.

The context and circumstances of the discussion between the two persons is are not known but Mr Agyapong has consistently claimed that Anas blackmails people to part with money using whatever evidence he gathers about them through entrapment.

Mohammed Hafiz Abdullah, the Dema Naa of Tamale, also made allegeations on Net2 TV, owned by Mr Agyapong, on Friday, 1 June 2018, that Anas demanded a $50,000 bribe from him to drop a case.

He claimed Anas demanded the money to kill a scandalous story about him. Additionally, he said a friend of his also had to part with $50,000 to Anas in line with the same purpose, bringing the bribe to a total of $100,000.

Mr Agyapong, has vowed to “strip Anas naked” by premiering the “Who Watches The Watchman” documentary on Wednesday, 27 June 2018 at 7pm at the forecourt of Oman FM, located at Madina in Accra.

He said “Who Watches The Watchman” is a compilation of “dubious” activities of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which, according to him, prove that the brain behind the Number 12 exposé which uncovered rot within the Ghana Football Association, is, himself, corrupt.

According to Mr Agyapong, Anas does not practise investigative journalism but sets people up to destroy their hard-won reputation.

He noted that if Anas were to have been using the same entrapment tactics in some other part of the world, he would have been killed by now.

According to the MP, he will be vindicated after the “Who Watches The Watchman” documentary is made public.
