Adu Gyamfi Senior High School, an academic institution located within Sekyere South District of Ashanti region is hard pressed with infrastructural challenges which call for an immediate attention from government.
The institution is currently faced with the challenge of inadequate staff accommodation which according to school authorities is negatively affecting academic delivery.
The above-mentioned according to the headmaster for the school Dr. Berko Acheampong has compelled most teachers to cover long distance from neighboring communities  before reaching the school to carry out academic work.
Out of the over 200 teaching and non-teaching staff, only 26 according to his disclosure reside within the school and even with that the state of most existing buildings serving as bungalow calls for major rehabilitation works.
Dr. Berko Acheampong  continued that the school’s security is currently under threat due to the uncompleted perimeter fence wall.
This he indicated has become a great security concern to authorities since it has become difficult for them to wade off intruders.
Other challenges as disclosed by him include; the small sized ICT laboratory which needs an  expansion, lack of a spacious bus to support the only existing school van which is in a poor state making it increasingly difficult to convey students for educational trips.
The school he underlined also lacks a befitting lavatory and therefore called on government and stakeholders to support them with a 24-seater student’s lavatory, adding that the poor state of the streets within the school also calls for a resurfacing and sealing.
That notwithstanding, Adu Gyamfi Senior High School he mentioned has been able to earn some level of academic success.
He announced during the celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary that in 2016, the school came second in the Ashanti regional SRC contest and 2nd in debate and drum language.
Authorities he noted are setting in motion measures to help uplift the academic performance of students through the introduction of early morning classes for students and in-service training for staff.
