Abia APC Senatorial aspirant, Ugboajah is dead

The 2023 Senatorial aspirant for Abia Central district at the recently-concluded national asswmbly primary elections of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia state, Hon Kelvin Ugboajah, has been confirmed dead.
The prominent Abia politician passed on early hours of Saturday July 11, 2022 over undisclosed illness.
His death was made known in an official statement released on Tuesday by the Late Ugboajah’s family of Ariam Usaka Oboro clab in Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that late Hon Kelvin Ugboajah, was a lawyer, and had served twice as Abia State Commissioner of Works, and Lands during the administration of former Governor Orji Uzor Kalu.
The Late Kelvin Ugboajah was a former Executive Chairman of Ikwuano Local Government Area of the state, and also ran for the House of Representatives seat for Ikwuano/Umuahia federal Constituency seat under the All Progressive Congres, during the 2019 general election conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission in Abia state.
Until his sudden demise, he also doubled as a member of the Board Council, Obafemi Awolowo Federal Teaching Hospital, Osun state in the southwest geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, reacting to the unfortunate death, the Action Democratic Party House of Representatives Candidate for Ikwuano/ Umuahia federal constituency seat of Abia State for the 2023 general election,  Chief Paul Meregini, expressed sadness on the sudden passage of  Barrister Kelvin Ugboaja.
In a condolence message issued to newsmen on Tuesday, in Umuahia, the Abia capital, Chief Meregini who recalled how political relationship with the deceased, described Late Ugboaja as a patriot,  genuine political leader and committed democrat whom during his era as the executive chairman of Ikwuano local government area, demonstrated uncommon leadership that undoubtedly, fostered great numbers of economic and Infrastructural amenities which visibly brought development to most lengths and breadths of the local council areas.
He noted that late Kelvin Ugboajah while alive, was relentless and undeterred in the genuine collective efforts of all well meaning and spirited citizens of Abia state to enthrone effective and responsive leadership in the state, on the heels of popular yearnings of the Abia populaces, and further recalled as then  member of the All Progressive Congress  in Abia, together with the deceased politician, late Hon Kelvin Ugboajah worked harmoniously with all and sundry towards restoring the lost peace and unity in the state chapter of the APC untill his unfortunate death.
Meregini said that the Late Chief Hon Kelvin Ugboajah will be remembered for standing firm in justice, equity and fairness, and as well, was committed and dedicated in the current crusade for Abia state to always have her own share in federal government’s  allocation of our natural resources and meaningful economic and Infrastructural projects, which till now, can be attested to.
In his Ariam Oboro community of Ikwuano local government area of Abia state, the frontline ADP National Assembly Standard-bearer, also said that Late Ugboajah used his wide influence in politicking, to attract and build critical Infrastructures to enhance his community development and further pointed out that the deceased politician facilitated employment of indigent sons and daughters from oboro community in  state and federal civil service including, in world of private sector.
Words: “Ugboajah played inclusive and development-oriented politics which endeared his party members and people to him untill his demise. He was a team player who was only concerned in what will benefit the people and was never sentimental to issues concerning the development of Abia, southeast and Nigeria as a whole”.
Meregini further described the Late Hon Barrister Kelvin Ugboajah as one of the finest leaders in Ikwuano/Umuahia extraction, and further grieved that he will personally missed the quintessential political leaders in seeking his support in his bid to represent the good people of the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency at the House of Representatives Abuja come 2023.
He, however, on behalf of his family, Ibeku Ukwu Ogurube ancient kingdom, friends, associates and teeming supporters across the three local government areas of Abia state that formed the present IKwuano/Umuahia federal constituency, condoled the Ugboajah family and people of great Ariam Oboro community in Ikwuano local government area on the sudden passage of their son, political leader and accomplished lawyer, Late Hon Kelvin Ugboajah.
