2023 Elections: Nigerians react to Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim ticket
As the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu unveiled his running mate, Kashim Shettima, many Nigerians have been sharing their thoughts on the party’s choice of candidate.
In a series of tweets, Nigerians are raising concerns about the decision to run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 election.
On Sunday, July 10, Bola Tinubu said he picked Kashim Shettima because he is confident that the former governor of Borno State will be the best choice for the country irrespective of the tribe and religion.
However, during the APC primaries, Bola Tinubu denied picking a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 election, a move the delegates welcomed.
In a statement Tinubu’s office released to trash the rumor, he said “this is nothing but a lie it has no basis whatsoever”.
Some Nigerians have taken to social media to express their disappointment at the APC over their decision, causing supporters to relinquish their support for the party.
