2020 6th March parade to be held in Kumasi
Sharpnewsgh.com sources in the corridors of power have indicated that this year’s 63rd independence anniversary would be celebrated in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
Last year it was celebrated in Tamale in the Northern region for the first time in the history of the Republic.
Government announced last year that the celebration would be rotational to ensure the generality of Ghanaians taste the fruit of the celebration and get to know the full history of how Ghana gained independence some 63 years ago.
According to the source, the President is poised at ensuring equitable celebration of the parade across the country.
Kumasi would be strategic for many reasons as some indigenes had raised issues with lack of development in the area.
This the President aims at using the anniversary to project and enumerate the success story of his administration and what he plans to do moving forward.
Ghana had always celebrated the historic anniversary in the Capital city Accra at the Balck Star Square for 61 years until President Akufo Addo decided to rotate the celebration for the regions to also have a feel of the celebration, with a novel at the Aliu Mahana Stadium in Tamale, last year.
