Kwesi Appiah names squad to face Kenya – Asamoah Gyan dropped
Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has been dropped from Kwesi Appiah’s squad to face Kenya in Accra.
The head coach of the Black Stars on Sunday released a 24 man squad to face the Harambee Stars on March 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Five new players were named in Kwesi Appiah squad as the search of talents continues ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The Kayerirspor forward has struggled all season to make an impact due to recurring of injuries.
However, Gyan returned to action for Turkish side Kayserispor on Sunday, where he played 25 minutes of football after making an injury return.
The 33-year old was making his second appearance in the Turkish super lig when he came on for Atila Turan in their 3-0 defeat to Caykur Rizespor.
It is expected that Andre Ayew will lead the team at the Nations Wembley and will be hoping to get convincing results after suffering 1:0 defeat at the Kasarani Stadium last year.
