Ken Agyapong names NPP leaders ‘poisoning’ Akufo-Addo’s mind against him
Assin Central lawmaker has attributed his decision to tone down on his public discourse to deliberate attempts by some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to fuel an enmity between him and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He disclosed in an interview he granted NET 2 Television monitored by
MyNewsGh.com that these individuals have made it a habit to be peddling all manner of falsehood about him to the Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces on a daily basis.
In his assessment, the intent of their actions is to ruin the longtime relationship he has had with the president for reasons not known explaining that the president at a point got pissed with the numerous complaints about him.
“If not for the fact that President Akufo-Addo has patience and understanding they would have ruined the relationship between us. They keep lying every day and when it gets to some level, he also gets fed up. I have resolved that since NPP is charting the path of gentility, I will also be gentle henceforth so that everyone will see that Kennedy Agyapong, the other side of him shows that he can be a gentleman”, he revealed
Though he will not mention names of individuals guilty of gossiping about him to the President, he dropped a hint that they are persons seeking to succeed Akufo-Addo as flagbearer who have made that their stock in trade.
“In NPP there are some people especially those seeking to be Presidents they are good at gossiping and telling lies. They just seek to ruin the reputation between me and President Akufo-Addo”, he stated.
