Drone strikes in Libya kill two, injure MP’s Nephew amid accusations and denials
The strikes targeted areas near Al-Maya port in the northwest and occurred following previous attacks on Sunday.
Politicians from the eastern-based parliament have accused the Tripoli-based national unity government (GNU) of deliberately targeting the residence of a local MP.
However, the GNU has refuted these claims, asserting that the drone strikes were directed at drug smugglers and human traffickers operating in the vicinity of Al-Maya port.
Libya has faced ongoing violence for over a decade since the overthrow of former President Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 with the support of NATO.
