29-year-old Man Drowns In Densu River at Teacher Mante
A 29-year-old Mason has drowned in Densu River at Teacher Mante in the Eastern Region.
According to Abraham Afatsawo a foreman at Koans Estate at Panpanso near Teacher Mante the deceased Yaw Kunorvi who was one of his workers, went to Panpanso stretch of River Densu to wash, after the close of work but got drowned.
He said he reported the incident to the Police
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sargeant Francis Gomado, and Police proceeded to the scene and found a pair of trousers, a shirt and a bag belonging to the deceased 30 meters from the bank of the river.
Also found sponge, sandals, and a shirt at the bank of the river.
Local divers were engaged to retrieve his naked body from the river.
He said Police found no marks of violence on the body however, blood was seen oozing from the nostrils.
According to Sargeant Francis Gomado, the body has been conveyed and deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary, Accra for preservation awaiting autopsy.
