‘Stranded’ Amos Frimpong begs Akufo-Addo to open Ghana’s borders
Former Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong is pleading with government to temporarily open the country’s borders for citizens stuck outside the country to return home.
All of Ghana’s borders have been closed since March 22, 2020. Only cargo is permitted into the country since President Akufo-Addo gave the directive.
The move is aimed at stopping the importation of new cases of coronavirus into the country.
Amos, who currently plies his trade with AS Kaloum Stars in Guinea has been affected by the decision as he is stuck in a foreign country amid the pandemic.
“I will appeal to Nana to allow those of us who wish to come home to come, at least we can be tested or quarantined for the 14 day period, if he lifts the ban on travel, many Ghanaians will be able to return home,” the 28 year old told Asempa FM.
