“Represent Ghana Well”- First Lady To Beneficiaries Of Exchange Programme
The First Lady and Head of the Rebecca Foundation Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has charged the first batch of beneficiaries of the Sports and Cultural Exchange Programme in China to be worthy representatives of Ghana.
The First Lady made this known when the beneficiaries called on her to bid her farewell and express gratitude to the Rebecca Foundation for facilitating the programme.
The first 15 beneficiaries left Ghana Saturday, 20th October 2018 to China to take part in a 10-day exchange Programme facilitated by the First Lady and the Rebecca Foundation through an MOU with the Education and Sports Bureau of Lincang and the Qingdao Belt.
The students were drawn from SOS schools in Tamale, Kumasi, Tema, Asiakwa and other parts of the country.
According to the First Lady, the arrangement will broaden the scope of the beneficiaries on cross-cultural settings aside their own and shore up their confidence levels with increased knowledge of the international system.
The visibly excited students were full of praise and adulation for the First Lady who serves as Patron of SOS Schools and villages in all over Ghana.
“This is a fantastic opportunity, it will be a great experience for you to learn about China, learn about the children there and about what they do, and then teach them about your culture,” she said.
The beneficiaries are scheduled to return on Wednesday, 31st October 2018.
