Ras Mubarak jabs Akufo-Addo; says his response to gory accidents shambolic
Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Hon. Ras Mubarak has jabbed President Akufo-Addo for
According to the legislator, government’s response to the tragic accidents which happened on Friday, March 22, 2019 is an understatement.
In a Facebook post, Ras Mubarak slammed the president and ministers of state for not taking some necessary steps following reports on the accident which claimed over 70 lives.
“The government’s response is nothing but shambolic. More than 70 of our compatriots have died in very tragic road accidents in just one day,” he wrote.
“No package of support for the victims, no declaration of a day of mourning, and unlike other disasters in the past, no visit to either the hospital or the mass burial today by any minister of state,” he added.
Ras Mubarak lamented and expressed his disappointment at the posture of the presidency and top government officials concerning the accident.
He noted that the president’s ‘unconcerned’ attitude towards the accident victims does not show good leadership.
“In times of such tragic disasters, we expect leadership. What the President has demonstrated is not leadership, just vacuum,” he noted.
Ras Mubarak in his conclusion applauded the MP for Garu, Albert Alalzuuga for demonstrating commitment and leadership.
He further revealed that most of the Kintampo accident victims were natives of his constituency.
Ras Mubarak’s jab directed at President Akufo-Addo and his ministers followed two gory accidents that occurred at Kintampo and Ekumfi Dunkwa.
On Friday, March 22 2019, over 60 passengers passed on in an accident involving two buses on the Techiman-Kintampo road.
On the same day, 10 persons passed on, with several others injured in an accident that occurred at Ekumfi Dunkwa on the Winneba-Cape Coast Highway.
On March 23, 2019, over 35 of the victims who got burnt were buried in a mass grave near the accident scene at Kintampo.
