Police officer beheaded as robbers attack NNPC
Suspected armed robbers over the weekend beheaded a police officer in Kwara State.
It was gathered that the police sergeant alongside other security personnel attached to the station were beheaded while the armed robbers attacked Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega station in Ilorin.
Spokesperson of Kwara State Police Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in the state.
SP Okasanmi, however, said more details will be revealed shortly, adding that the matter is under investigation.
He said, “The death of a policeman and attack is true but the command is still investigating the issue.”
The robbers were reported to have struck the fuel station on Saturday night after workers at the station had left for their respective homes.
