Police Arrest Driver After Knocking Down Pregnant Woman
Police in Akwadum in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region has arrested a taxi driver for knocking down two persons including a pregnant woman.
The taxi, with registration number, ER-1190-16 was reportedly overtaking a commercial vehicle on the Akwadum township stretch of the Koforidua -Suhum road when it veered off the road and knocked down the victims who were standing at the roadside.
The accident angered some youth in the community who manhandled the driver but was saved by the police’s swift response.
The victims were rushed to the St. Joseph Hospital where they are currently on admission after their conditions were stabilized by Doctors.
The driver is expected to be put before court on Monday.
