Ghanaian musician King Promise has revealed that England-based footballers Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi are open to representing the Black Stars of Ghana.
The revelation has renewed discussions about the possibility of the two players switching their international allegiance and becoming available for Ghana in future competitions.
According to King Promise, both players are interested in playing for Ghana, while Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku is also aware of the situation.
The musician, who has maintained close relationships with a number of football personalities, expressed optimism that the necessary discussions could eventually lead to Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi joining the Black Stars.
“Hopefully, it works out,” King Promise said, indicating his hope that the two players could eventually make themselves available to Ghana.
Nketiah, who has Ghanaian heritage, has represented England at various youth levels and has also earned senior caps for the Three Lions. His potential decision to switch allegiance to Ghana has been a subject of discussion among Ghanaian football supporters for some time.
The striker came through the youth system at Arsenal before making a move to Crystal Palace, where he continued his professional career in the Premier League.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, is another player with Ghanaian roots who has represented England at senior level. The winger developed through Chelsea’s academy and made his senior debut for England before continuing his club career away from Stamford Bridge.
Both players would bring significant international experience and Premier League exposure to the Ghana squad if they eventually become available to the Black Stars.
The possibility of attracting players with Ghanaian heritage has remained an important topic for the country’s football authorities, particularly as Ghana seeks to strengthen its squad for major international competitions.
The Black Stars have previously benefited from players who were born or raised outside Ghana but have Ghanaian roots, with several such players choosing to represent the country at senior level.
King Promise’s comments are therefore likely to generate renewed interest among Ghana supporters, particularly those hoping to see Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi in the Black Stars setup.
However, the final decision rests with the players and the relevant football authorities. Any change of international allegiance would also have to comply with the applicable FIFA regulations governing eligibility and switches between national teams.
